Have A Dream

Be Patient, Don’t Quit Too Soon.

Success rarely comes overnight ………………..

As all of us can agree starting something new, be it a business, a dream or implementing a new undertaking and taking it all the way to success is not an easy task. At times, we may even find ourselves having to make a choice either hanging on with it or letting our dream die.

David had a big dream in his life.

He had a desire to make a difference in his life.

But, as a young man, David spent many years as a shepherd, caring for his father’s sheep.

I am sure there were plenty of times when David must have thought, “God, what am I doing here? There is no future in this place. When are you going to change this situation?”

But, David understood God’s timing. He knew that if he would be faithful in obscurity, God would promote him at the right time. And, he knew very well that God will bring his dreams to pass in due season.

In hindsight, we know it is not easy to build something from scratch. And, like David, we may not really see any possibility our ideas or our dreams could happen. Most people don’t always understand God’s method. His ways don’t always make sense to us, but we have to realize that God sees the bigger picture.

Success rarely happen overnight. Be patient. Don’t quit too soon. God will bring it to pass in a split second of time. Have faith that one day all the pieces have to come together for it to be God’s perfect time. God will bring it altogether where it is God’s timing and all the forces can’t stop Him.

Just before I conclude this post, I wish to say “Hello” to everyone in Fitness First Rockville; “Don’t grow impatient too soon. Be patient. And, don’t quit too soon. Success rarely happen overnight. Time is on your side, if you don’t rush it. It takes plenty of courage, passion and last but not least, a positive vision to see our dreams come true. Continue dreaming your dreams. Keep excelling and achieving your dreams.” !!!

Dreams don’t come over night but if you put your heart to it. No dream is unreachable and no goal unachievable. Great post michael!

Thanks for that post Michael, very encouraging. So often we jump ahead of God and wonder why nothing is going right. We crash the door instead of waiting for the Doorkeeper.
I am reminded of the scripture from Romans 8:28 “All things work together for good for them that love God and who are called according to His purpose.”
David was called for God’s purpose, and in due time became the greatest king Israel ever had and was the grandfather of Messiah. From the least in his father’s house to the first in the nation. Now that’s a success story.

The one thing I would add is that it is important to always be trying to discern what it is that God is inspiring you to be or to do. With that assurance, you can expect God to give you all the grace you need to get where He wants you to be. It is also important to discern if and when God is inspiring you to move on to something different. Yes, even if it doesn’t seem to make sense at the moment. But I have found that most of the time, whether I hear God saying do this or do that, or to stay or to go, it does make sense.

  7. “Success rarely happen overnight. Be patient. Don’t quit too soon. God will bring it to pass in a split second of time.” That was directed at me. I feel like someone knows what I’m going through…

  8. Thoroughly enjoyed this post. In our impatient world, it is good to be reminded that some things take time, and to learn patience and most importantly, not to give up too easily. Lessons that can take a long time to learn!

How true, often we get tired of waiting and though we believe God CAN,we often battle with the WHEN. The story of Joseph’s final victory inspite of the long wait in the Bible is one that has helped me a lot during the tough waiting times in life.
PS: Glad that you worked out the link ! 😉

This is lovely and so true 😀 I won’t give up on my dreams, either. Nothing comes without hard work and perseverance!

  12. A very wise person told me once that patience is joy in the waiting… It’s true… And the joy makes the wait pass more quickly!

  13. Excellent, Dreams do come true for people who work at them while dreaming. One needs to take action and keep on moving forward. “Commitment is the enemy of resistance, for it is the serious promise to press on, no matter how many times you are knocked down”

Thanks, this is a beautiful post

  15. Good Post! David is such a wonderful example of someone stepping out in faith. He went through the same doubts, fears and concerns we do today. David wasn’t perfect that’s for sure but he always knew one thing for sure…..that God was there watching over Him and God is perfect in everything including perfect timing.
