Let’s Remember ……..

“History has demonstrated that the most notable winners usually encountered heart-breaking obstacles before they triumphed. They won because they refused to become discouraged by their defeats.”
~ Bertie Charles Forbes.

  1. I hope I become such a person. Thanks for this post Michael 🙂

This could be 100% Authentic! Very true! At least it works for my role model from history.

  3. I think because the “heart-breaking” opens one up to whole different kind of living. God Bless you!

  4. Abigail says:

Something very good to remember. Sometimes, though, it can be difficult to know if the defeats are merely detours or G-d leading us down a different path to something even better. Either way, we need to keep moving along!

  5. Wayne Augden says:

Another great post, Michael. Thanks for sharing.

  6. Sadly, Michael many have faced heart-breaking obstacles after they have triumphed.. The Lindberghs and the Kennedys come imediately to mind, as well as the most recent example..Steve Jobs. Too many to mention.

    • Michael says:

Welcome back Jake. I share the belief that everything happens for a reason although the reason may be hard to see at that time. I believe we should not give up on ourselves without a good fight. And place the rest with God The Almighty.

  7. Oh, by the way thank you for all of the “likes” you are a faithful follower.

  9. Ray says:

I believe what you say is true. Thomas Edison and hus light bulb come to mind. Ghandi in India. Bishop Tutu in South Africa. And I’ll mention myself as just a plain ordinary person. Not that I’ve done anything great. But as I’m writing my memoirs ( I’m age 72 in a few weeks) I can see that over the years, discerning and doing what I have understood to be God’s will, has not always been easy. There have been obstacles, and at one time a sense of total failure. But when I have continued to seek and follow God’s direction, I’ve been able to get it done. Whatever “it” happened to be at the time.

  10. Michael, thank you for posting this. Having been through a recent heartbreaking experience these words are inspiring. It is these people who we can look up to and live by their example. Thank you again for posting this! We sometimes have to remember, even though we might be facing heartbreak, it might inspire others to persevere and keep going in their lives! 🙂

Still waiting through my trials, but still believing this is true.
