Have A Dream

Just Before You Leave For Work.

It is easier to criticize than to create ……………….

How often have we seen people giving responsibility but withholding authority?

Many expect competence, energy, freshness, experience, productivity and so forth all rolled into one …………… How realistic is that?

Allow me to remind you we are often judged by our 3Ps. Performances, Possessions. Positions. Unfortunately, this is not balanced. Many confuse these as the values of life. They keep pushing themselves working on their goals to own these things; performance, possessions and positions. You see, they focus only of the future and consequently, forget to live now in the present ……………

“A time comes when you stop waiting
for the man you want to become and
start being the man you want to be.”
~ Bruce Springsteen.

“There are two kinds of failures:
Those who think and never do,
and those who do and never think.”

“When other people are made
to feel important and appreciated,
it will no longer be necessary for them to whittle others down
in order to be seen bigger in comparison.”
~ Virginia Arcastle.

“Nothing is so contagious as an example.
We never do great good or great evil without bringing about
more of the same on the part of others.”
~ Francois De La Rochefoucauld.

“Pick battles big enough to matter, small enough to win.”

“Change and growth take place when a person
has risked himself and dare to become involved
experimenting his life.”
~ Herbert Otto.

“The primary tools that one needs
to modern day culture, are to know how to make things up and
how to figure things out. This is creativity in two of its forms.
These are called imagination and problem solving.”
~ Steven Snyder.

“People should know what you stand for.
They should also know what you won’t stand for.”

“An idealist believes the short run doesn’t count.
A cynic believes the long run doesn’t matter.
A realist believes what is done or left undone
in the short run determines the long run.”
~ Sydney J. Harris.

“People who put up barriers rarely move far.”

I reckon we have different potentials. Every one of us is contributing according to his or her potentials. Imagine ……… visualize ……………… if you can effectively develop the special talents you have according to your potential, don’t you feel you will enjoy your work more?

“If a man has talent and cannot use it,
he has failed.
If he has talent and uses only half of it,
he has partly failed.
If he has talent and learns somehow
to use the whole of it,
he has gloriously succeeded,
and won a satisfaction and a triumph,
few men will ever know.”
~ Thomas Wolfe.

Wow, this was the energising post that I needed to read today to help get me moving! Thank you Michael!

  4. The balance in life is so tilted by man and his image (possessions) we often forget about the position and performance. Profoundly stated.

  5. Michael, I love this post! The quotes are encouraging and this is just what I needed to read this morning 🙂 Thank you for sharing! God bless xox

  6. Wow! The three P’s speak loud and clear to much of humanity nowadays. How did
this happen? Why does it continue when almost everyone longs for balance and contentment? We seem to ‘dream’ instead of act. Shouldn’t it be easier to live simply? Well, not so long as performance, possessions, and positions are all you long for. Michael, you get to the deeper ideologies so simply. Thank you.

    • Michael says:

Very well said my friend. Living simply, do you mean simplying life – less is more? My defining of “balance” is not mystical. Others can relate to and generally acceptable. I reckon very often we miss out the goodness in life if we are not living in the present. Warmest wishes to you, Heidi.

  7. A time comes when you stop waiting
for the man you want to become and
start being the man you want to be.”
    ~ Bruce Springsteen
This is hard at times – for it’s so easy to aspire. It seems many of us are RAISED to aspire! First to academic excellence, which carries forth into work. Pretty soon, we’ve forgotten what’s important and essential to our Being. So presume now that we awaken to the possibilities, but can’t figure out just how to go about recapturing that essence. Then we are left waiting – and for what? A sign? A change? On the other hand, Nature just ‘Is.’ Getting outside and observing and participating in it helps me remember that the world goes on perfectly just as it is! And the junk in my head has little to do with the essence of what my place is in the Cosmos.
Peace, and Aloha, Michael – thanks for the post.
