Our happiness derives mainly from our personal experience and attitude. It is not so much dependent on our external circumstances or factors.”
Do you normally accept things as they are, or would you ask “why” and “what if?”
Perhaps, for many people, trying out a new perspective coild be scary. But, if we were to stick to the known or familiar, we may never grow up and learn.
You see, the amazing thing is, when our thinking is healthy and positive, our emotions will follow. So why not, try a new way to do the same thing and see what happens? And be mindful, practice makes perfect.
If I may ask, will entertaining and acting on the negative emotion move us in the direction of our highest good? Will our negative emotions bless those closest to us? Will it help us reach our goals or accomplish our dreams?
As a matter of fact, it is certain that from time to time, we will have negative emotions triggering our lives. Consciously or unconsciously, we may do silly things that fuel our negative emotions. We may pick on the wrong things to dwell on and most likely ending up with more of what we do not want.
As I see it, our happiness derives from our own experience and attitude. It is not so much dependent on our external circumstances or factors ………. Just before I conclude my post for the day, here’s a food for thought – something we are so used to doing the opposite most of the time.
“Dwell on the things that are uplifting. Dwell on the things that are working. Dwell on the things that are worthy of praise.” ~ Philippians 4:8
Happy Sunday and Blessings !!!
I think it’s a very internal thing, happiness, just like love and joy and fear. Everyone has their own ideas and catalysts for feeling happy, and it’s very much our attitudes that get us to those joyful places. Great post!
Thank You. I agree with what you had commented. Happy weekend and God Bless.
Beautiful post and well said! Thanks for sharing Michael!
First a foremost, my warmest welcome to your valued visit, my friend. Thanks for the kind words and looking forward to have you visiting in the not too distant future. π
sometimes it is so easy to blame other people and things for the way our life is but I agree …happiness is internal. I think at times we focus too much on controlling the external word and any positive energy we have is exerted in negative things.
Very well said. Have a wonderful week ahead !!!
As “I” see it Mindfulness was taught to me that attitude, judgment and emotion fade without attention. The ego serves us if we learn to direct our attention to live totally right now.
Give,up thought, judgment for being here without doubt or worry and see if opportunity arrives.
Another great sentiment. From a old salesman, Michael, me too. hahaha
Thanks for the insight. Very true. You have a wonderful weekend and Blessings !!!
Marty- thank you for sharing. I am currently practicing the art of “mindfulness” that I picked up from ZenHabits.org. I never knew how hard it could be but by practicing being in the “right now” I am so much at peace and happiness. I am recognizing more so the wonders of life and not the tangible things that we as humans hold so dear to our hearts..even myself!
π Happy living then !!!
happiness is always our choice. i believe. thanks for liking my post a while ago.
π
Thanks for visiting and leaving a word for me. Have a happy Sunday and God Bless.
Michael,
Thanks for liking one of my blog posts.
I agree 100%. If you stay in your comfort zone, you’ll never learn and you will never grow.
Have a blessed weekend and an awesome week ahead!
Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful weekend !!!
Very true! familiarity is so easy versus trying something I have never done before. I hope to adopt and adapt to change.
Great !!!
So, the challenge is set then?
Okay. Have a wonderful weekend !!!
Michael,
The book of Romans puts it like this: Rom 8:5-8 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
Says the same thing, doesn’t it? My grandmother had another way of expressing it…..You take trash and garbage in, and trash and garbage is what you’ll put out……
Another great thought here, Michael. I appreciate what you do. Have a blessed weekend, my friend.
Wayne,
First and foremost, a very happy morning to you.
Thanks for expanding my post with your valued insight. I really appreciate your tremendous effort to sharing so much good stuff with us.
Have a blessed Sunday brother. π
thank you sharing your words of wisdom. I will take this and apply it.
π again, “Happy Living,”
My previous boss always said “sometimes you’re out there riding the waves, sometimes you’re sitting on the shore”… better to be happy doing both π
Very true Ella. Have a wonderful week ahead π
Thanks to quote from Paul’s letters. I like them so much. Recently I found Paul the Apostle so great, his explanation on love of Jesus and virtue of belief really hit my chord.
Glad you like this. Have a happy week, Bibuji.
Wonderful reminder Michael. It’s so easy to get flustered and bothered by something trivial that I allow to grow. That’s not what I want. Thank you.!
Have another wonderful week ahead, my friend.
Thank you Friend, and the same to you! Peace. π
π Best regards !!!
Michael, thank you for the inspiration this morning and stopping by my blog because I needed to read this. I woke up this morning feeling not so enthused…..but I have been reading the book called “10 Ways to Stand Out From the Crowd by Connie Podesta & Jean Gatz. ..on page 34 it states and I quote ” Taking Charge Means
-No more excuse
-being accountable for the consequences of your actions
-Taking responsibility for your happiness
-legging go of what didn’t work in the past and choose to move forward
-solving problems instead of whining and complaining
Last but definitely not least…Finding Your Power In The Middle Of Chaos..
For years..I have blamed people and things for the reasons my life were the way it was and just these couple of sentences combined with your wise words have made me realize…I am in control of my happiness..my life…my relationships and I am only powerless if I choose to not Take Charge!..again Thanks!

Thanks for the share Mannie π
you’re welcome! Enjoy this beautiful day!
Thank You!!!
no problem

Looking at things in a positive way always helps us build our spirits. If we think badly or negatively then all becomes dull and burdesnome. It all sounds so simple yet requires a great deal of thought daily to put into place. It is through that daily thinking and implementing that we continue to grow. Nice post, Michael.Good Sunday to You.
Blessings,
Isadora
Isadora,
You are very right in defining happiness. Thanks for sharing your wonderful insight with us,
Wishing you another great week ahead .
You have brought such lovely illumination to my Sunday. Thank you! Your wise words have inspired me, and I adore your concluding verse from Philippians.
Have another great new week, my friend.
Lucky for me, I’ve always been bored easily. I find it most gratifying to accept what the day brings – whatEVER the day brings – and delight in the changes my life goes through, as a result. I don’t always ‘like’ these changes, but at 59 years of age, I’ve learned that it’s the only way we truly do grow.
Blessings, Michael!
Thanks Bela.
Warmest wishes and best regards to you and yours. Have a great Sunday evening and see you π
Amen. Thank you, Michael. π
